Renters: it IS Possible to Own!
I’m so excited to write this article! I love helping renters realize their dreams of homeownership, and the many people who have read my articles know that I won’t rest until each and every renter has found a way to become a homeowner.
In this day and age it, especially with this market, renting just doesn’t make sense. You’re more likely to pay more each month in rent than you are to pay as a mortgage payment. For example, you could wind up paying $1650/month for a two bedroom one-and-a-half bath apartment when you could be paying $1500/month for a home with three bedrooms and two full bathrooms, a garage, bigger kitchen, double the overall space AND a yard! That’s like paying more each month to live in less space for no reason, AND you don’t build any equity when renting!
This article is especially for those who are doubting their ability to ever buy. You might think “I don’t have enough money for a down payment” or “I don’t know my credit score” or “I heard it’s a terrible time to buy a house”. Well, I’m here to help! My team and I have worked with all situations, and I can promise you that there IS a way to buy, but you need to do your part.
You need to educate yourself so that you can take advantage of this market and the amazing programs available!
The first thing I tell people is to talk to Chad Conley to find out their credit score and get advice on what to do to become fully qualified. It really is your first starting point, checking it is free, and it’s the first step toward improving your odds of getting a mortgage. Make sure your credit report is in good standing, and if there are any errors that need to be fixed or bad marks removed from your report.
